Bravo to our neighbours in Crumlin

I had the absolute pleasure of attending the launch of the Crumlin biodiversity action plan on Wednesday 12th of July, which was fabulously timed to coincide with the passing of the Nature Restoration law in Europe.

Well done to all involved in Bloomin’ Crumlin who made this plan happen, it is a fantastic achievement and hopefully will set you on the path to delivery with the many stakeholders involved. A real demonstration that everyone is a beginner at some stage and to never be afraid to take the first step in advancing a project.

I think Mark Twain summed is up nicely when he said “the secret to getting ahead is getting started. The secret of getting started is breaking your complex overwhelming tasks into small manageable tasks, and starting on the first one”.

In addition, to several great speakers on the night, we also had a lovely tour of Pearse College allotments and the rewilding garden at the school. Both were an absolute delight, in particular the schools rewilding garden where every plant was naturally self-seeding and thriving. The entire space was edible too which was very impressive. Having employed a no-dig organic soil approach in Pearse college at the outset, I’m hoping we will also be on a positive path having employed this approach too in Eaton Square Park.
