New Year’s 2023 Terenure Village Treasure Hunt

We welcomed families to get outside after Christmas and join in a fun local treasure hunt in early January.

Clue sheets were provided taking treasure hunters around the shops and landmarks of Terenure.

The cost was €10 per team to enter. All funds raised went towards the local charity Suzanne House who provide respite care to families of children with complex medical needs.

In total €342 was donated to Suzanne House.

Prizes included:

  • Foam Coffee shop voucher

  • Three passes for Tayto Park

  • Smyths Toy Shop voucher

We had glorious weather, everyone who took part said it was the perfect start to getting back into the swing of getting up and out of pjs before back to school. Many stopped for a coffee or food along the way and that was the very spirit of the Treasure Hunt to enjoy your village.

Santa Visit - Terenure Babby & Toddler Playgroup and Family Festive Fun

We held two family festive fun events in December 2022. One for the very smallies at our Thursday morning baby and toddler playgroup. Santa was a smash hit and so too were the gingerbread men from the Corner Bakery, Terenure.

The second event was for families of all ages. We had hoped to have a magic show but unfortunately our magician was sick on the day, however we didn’t let that spoil our fun. We had a wonderful face painter Chiara who made everyone look very festive. We had lots of toys to play with. Santa of course came to say hi to all the boys and girls. Santa was very kind and gave every child a selection box. We had wonderful volunteers who helped dish out even more treats and tidy up too.

Family Fun Lego Event in aid of Suzanne House

IN November 2022 we ran a community fun Lego event in aid of the charity Suzanne House. The event involved a massive lego and separate duplo play-zones which had up to 50 children happily building all sorts of houses, vehicles and imaginative creations.

In addition, children could exhibit a best in show original Lego build. The visitors voted for their favourite event on the day and the winners walked away with some super Lego prizes.

We also held a lego person treasure hunt whereby several lego characters were hiding in the hall and had to be found.

The lego robotics station was a smash hit whereby visitors got to experience automated robots coded and made by one of our young lego enthusiasts. And who could forget some of the amazing Lego builds on display.

A lot of fun was had by everyone and we raised over 2250 euros for such a worthwhile cause. .
