Coming Soon Terenure Youth Group

Are you a parent of a child aged 12-17? It may interest you to know that we will be shortly looking to deliver a Terenure Youth Group program.

The Youth Group will be led by volunteers who will be Garda vetted by Terenure Community Support and Integration in advance of the youth group starting.

We will be delivering a fun and educational program of activities across three pillars:

(1) Self-development and community impact

(2) Environmental awareness and sustainability

(3) Creativity and Technology.

So practically what sort of things can your teen expect from participation in the group:

  • meeting other young people who live in the neighbourhood

  • playing card, board, team and Lego based games

  • learning new skills such as sign-language, first-aid, basic sewing, origami/paper craft, robotics

  • gaining and sharing more knowledge in particular in relation to science, the environment and nature

  • being involved in community projects such as the Eaton Square Park rewilding and biodiversity project, Tidy Towns, DSPCA etc.

In addition to the above we’ll be taking input from the young participants themselves as well as their hobbies and interests.

We plan to run the group every second Friday, therefore two sessions per month. We hope to use the Evergreen Club hall, we are awaiting final committee approval. If this venue is successful we will run the group on Friday evenings 18.30-20.00.

Young people deserve to have a space to go to relax with their peers and to enjoy themselves while gaining an understanding of a broad range of topics that assist them and their interaction with the community in the future.
