November 19th Makers Market Terenure - Success

Myself and all the organisers were aboslutely delighted with the turnout and show of support for local and new to Ireland crafters.

The day had a wonderful vibe of friendship and inclusion all day.

There was fantastic musical acts treating us to songs from the Amazonas to Patagonia as well as Rhythm Africana do a lively last set making sure we finished up on a high note.

There were two family friendly workshops in origami and clay modelling which were great fun for all involved. All our origami foxes had no ears at one stage but with a quick fold correction everyone had a little fox to take home. In the clay modelling session we managed to complete an octopus or jelly fish depending on how many tentacles were achieved, a sheep and a bird.

There were 26 crafters involved in the market. Special mention to our two charity participants Walter Cole who made Christmas Decorations in aid of St John of God Service which his son avails of as well as MIriam Spollen, NIamh and team who were in charge of the Art Connections stand. Art Connections is a wonderful local organisaiton supporting people with disabilities achieve great things through the arts.

We had many crafters taking part for the very first time including some young primary school crafters too. We had 10 stalls for people new to Ireland who really enjoyed the huge welcome and generosity of everyone who attended.

A massive thank you goes to the volunteers who were working in the background making sure that all craters got some homemade sandwiches and cakes to keep them all going during the five hour event.

The last thank you goes to all the legends who attended the event as without your participation and generosity the event would not have been a success. We are very grateful and humbled to live in a community that supports each other and welcomes all.

Looking forward to next year’s event already ;-) Please enjoy some photos from the event.
